While having a talk with my mom yesterday, it hit me how precious and fragile life is. And how fast it can be taken away. I was talking to my mom while I was in the car with Kyle, and as I sat fighting back tears, he reached over and grabbed my hand. Everyone needs someone to be there with them, to have someone to lean on. And you need to keep that person (or those few people) close. Maybe hold them a little longer, tell them you love them more often, talk about the things that really matter... Because really? Who knows how much time we have?
In other news... I went to the Oquirrh Mountain Temple Open House one last time yesterday, with Kyle. Still as wonderful, beautiful and amazing as always. I love the Spirit that is there. And I of course teared up when the husband and wife shared their experiences in the sealing room. It's really my favorite part.
This is such an exciting time of year!! Dani and Ryan, and Bonnie and Aaron get married on Saturday! Trevon and Mark both come home in less than two weeks! Kevin and Kellie, Lindsay and Preston, and Kaitlin and Darren are all getting married in 3 weeks. My birthday is in 4 weeks. School starts in a little over 4 weeks. BYU football season starts in 39 days, I think it is now. Holy crap, where did the summer go?? I love it though, it's so great. My life is so fantastic right now. I just need to find a job. But I am sure that will come. I am way excited for school to start... I guess a lot of people feel that "back to school" rush, and I most certainly always do. You know, the whole, I'm going to do a lot better than past semesters, and am going to study and not procrastinate as much, yadda yadda. And of course, as I always do, I really do think I will! For one, all of the classes I'm taking are major or minor classes (minus the Religion class, but it's a marriage and family class, which directly coincides with my major). Also, Kyle has elected to become my study buddy, which I know will help me a lot. Also, the fact that if I don't get my grades up I could potentially fail out of BYU... Eek. I'm going to do awesome this semester. Just you wait.
Oh, and two more things to look forward to....
The Blink 182 concert in September, and the Plain White T's concert in October, both with Kyle. Sarah blogged about how she's a "concert virgin". I most definitely am not. Here are a list of note worthy concerts I have been to in my life...
*LMNT, Baha Men, and A*Teens - ok, so it's not so noteworthy, but it was my first "real" concert. Lex and I went for my 12th birthday at Thanksgiving Point. It rocked.

... Hmmm, those are all I can think of for now. I really do love concerts. Something about the LOUDness, the screaming, the rush (especially if you're in GA), the bass up so high it's pounding in your chest, singing along at the top of your lungs knowing that you'll be hoarse in the morning, the ringing in your ears afterwards that makes it so you can't sleep.... Not to mention seeing your favorite band LIVE (especially if they're good)... I love it all.
And that concludes my blog post today... My AC is finally fixed! Yay! So, I'm off to do the cleaning that didn't happen for a week.
OH! And one more thing. Today is Caleb's YEAR MARK. I can hardly believe how fast time has gone by.

24th of July
I had a pretty great 24th of July, although it didn't start off so well. My AC broke (and is still broken, I'm going down to the office again today to complain) that night, and so I was awake all night! It was so hot. I went over to Kyle's at 8:30 am, and he made me breakfast and we watched the parade together on TV. I stayed at his apartment and took a nap while he went to work. He came home, and we made fajitas for dinner and then went up to Alan's where we lit off fireworks, and watched the Bachelorette and ate pie and socialized, which was a lot of fun. Oh, we also went to visit Em on the way up, and got to hang out with her family for a bit :)
On Saturday night Alan, Jess, Kyle and I had dinner then went to the Bees game. We lost, but it was still fun, and afterwards we got to go out on the field and watch fireworks. Some of them were SO LOUD. I do not like loud fireworks at all... haha, but it was still a good time.
Sunday was also great fun. Church was good, I had my committee meeting, and then went visit teaching with Cathy since her companion couldn't make it. I went over to Kyle's, we took a nap, and then made a delicious linguine meal from scratch, we were so proud of ourselves! We went to ward prayer, and then chatted, and watched Hoosiers, Kyle's favorite movie.
Yesterday we went grocery shopping, hung out, watched Indiana Jones and the Lost Arc, and had a party for Jay! Jay leaves today to Brazil for the next 5 months. Kyle's way sad about it, since Jay's his best friend, and pretty much his brother, but it will be awesome for Jay!
So, as promised, here are some great photo's from when Jay, Mal, Kyle and I went golfing a while ago... We don't look the greatest because it was so hot, but it sure was fun! :)

DANI
is back from Africa.
Holy freak.
This girl has been my best friend since 5th grade (that's 10 years people!) and was my roommate last fall/winter. She embarked on a mission to save the Ugandan people in May, and wasn't supposed to be home for 2 or 3 more weeks.
However.
This morning I got a phone call. The name was her's, and so was the face. Not thinking clearly, I answered, afraid it was one of her sister's and that Dani was in some sort of trouble over in Africa. I said, "Hello." And she goes, "Hey, Britt." She said something to the effect that she was home, to which I replied, "No, you're in Africa!" Anyway, she really IS home. And she came over to my apartment about 10 minutes later. I screamed, and attacked her, and then we talked for about 45 minutes. And I'll see her again tonight.
I love this girl, and am so glad she's home :)

Unproductive, and the Three Stooges
What I should be doing right now...
-Getting my laundry out of the washer
-Unloading and loading the dishwasher
-Eating (no, really, I've only eaten once today, and it's 4 pm)
-Cleaning my room
-Looking for a job
-Writing missionaries
What am I doing?
Well, I just got back from the regular 1-4 daily hang out session with Kyle. We watched The Three Stooges. No, really, we did. It's so funny. Black&white, cheesy, sound effects, the whole thing kills us. In the movie we watched, Moe, Larry and Curly Joe went to Venus in a rocket and met a talking unicorn. This is no joke. I was dying of laughter. There's just something about good, clean television from back in the day. I love it.
And obviously, I'm blogging.
My life rocks.
On Saturday, we had a ward activity where we went hiking on the Battle Creek Falls (or something like that) trail, and got wet under the waterfall, and then ate. It was a lot of fun! Kyle and I also went up to Rock Canyon Park and watched about 4 different groups ice blocking. There were so many kids! Then we came home and watched Minority Report.
Yesterday was another fabulous Sunday. Church was great. The RS lesson was on Charity, one of my favorite subjects. Kyle and I managed to pay attention most of Sunday School, since the topic was Missionary Work, which is hands down his favorite subject, as well as one of mine. Sacrament talks were great as well. After, I went to my Activities Committee meeting, and then visit taught Jill. Kyle came over with Sam to home teach me, and then my old roommate Lindsay is in town, and she came over to visit! Yay! It was so fun to see him, I've missed her a lot. Lindsay, Melissa, Sam, Garyn, Kyle and I went to Lion's Park to talk, and read, and play catch, and nap. Parks on Sundays are the best. Then Kyle and I hung out, went to ward prayer, and made awesome Batman brownies. No, really, we did. After we porch sat, and chatted with a few people, and just talked. Great, great day.
My life is really so fantastic right now.
Annika's Brett, and Kellie's Kevin came home last week, and things are going great for them. That makes me so happy :) Gillian, Bonnie and Dani's weddings are all coming up next weekend, which is also so exciting! I'm just happy, and more happy, every day. Life could not get better.
But, I guess I'm off to be productive.

Harry Potter, again.
I saw Harry Potter again today. With Kyle. And it was fabulous, and made me laugh again, and made me tear up again, and made me happy again. The ending still leaves me a bit unsettled, but that's ok. I can hardly wait for the next two movies!!
Also, I am currently watching Pearl Harbor. And am reminiscing about the good ol' days when I went to BYU's Youth Ballroom Dance camp for three years. My second year, I met Reiley McClendon, who happens to be an actor, and played the young Danny in Pearl Harbor. We were buds the whole week, and I have a picture with him, and possibly even a letter or two tucked away. He's making it pretty big now, too bad I didn't keep up with that... Haha, just joking. He's still a cutie though. I do LOVE Pearl Harbor though, and think that Josh Hartnett is so attractive, my heck. He's always been a celebrity crush of mine.
So, here I sit, having a "me" night. Kyle's at work, and I don't really feel like going out and doing anything, which is fine. I broke out the cookie dough, and toaster strudels, yum! I love being a girl. It's funny though, how I don't feel like doing anything. Em and I hung out yesterday (yes! I have missed her!) and we were talking about how we've grown up a lot in the past year. We both used to be double or triple booked on the weekends, and that's how we liked it! But now, we're content with just chilling. I'm still quite a social person, but definitely not as much as I was last year. It's interesting how people change, and how quickly, or how subtly that change can occur.
I bought three movies last night; PS I Love You, Cloverfield, and Grease. All fabulous movies, in my opinion. Walmart has an awesome selection of $13, $9 and $7.50 movies right now. Go check it out!!
One of Kyle's sports camps kid's came and hung out with us for a little bit tonight - or rather, I went and hung out with the two of them, haha. Anyway, after I left, he asked Kyle how old he was, and when Kyle told him, he said that we still act like teenagers. This is coming from a 15 year old! Haha, it made me laugh.
Anyway, that's all of my thoughts tonight, I think. I just reread the book "She Said Yes" for the the one hundredth time. It's by Misty Bernall, and is a biography of Cassie Bernall, one of the victims of the shooting at Columbine. It's short, but so powerful, and makes me think about my own beliefs. Yes, I believe in God, but when faced with death, would I answer the question "do you believe in God?" with a "yes," as Cassie did? I would hope that the answer is yes, but it's something I work on everyday.
More than ever I am thinking about what great examples I have in my life. Friends, family, leaders. I am so blessed. I've met some people in the past year that have changed my life for good, and to them I am extremely grateful, and I love them :)

HARRY POTTER
and the Half-Blood Prince.
Didn't follow the book at all.
BUT.
It was still fabulous.
And I rocked my HP shirt.
I laughed so many times, Ron is freaking hilarious. Also, loved Luna's lion costume. Lavender about made me pee my pants, and Hermione's breakdown tore out my heart.
Crying also occurred.
Also, Harry got pretty hot, as did Draco (and Ron). That was something I was not expecting.
And (thanks to Sarah) she reminded me how attractive Cormac was. Holy crap, he came on screen and I thought to myself, who is that??
I'm still not a fan of Ginny though.
Verdict?
Loved it. And will be seeing it again on Thursday with Kyle.
And at least one (or four) more times in the dollar theater.

7/13/09
The past month has just flown by! I want to blog, but the time flies by and I don't even remember what I need to blog about. I really can hardly remember what I did last week....
Kyle and I went hiking up to Stewart Falls, which was way fun! We saw about half of BYU campus up there though, haha. Friday night it was Outdoor Movie Night up on campus, so I went up with Mal, Bonnie, and Sarah. We met up with some people in Bon's old ward, and we ate our free J-Dawgs, and played some games, and chatted. The movie was Enchanted, which just cracks me up. I really like it more every time I watch it. After Kyle got off work he came and joined in. The movie ended at about 11:20, and then Kyle and I porch sat. The time flew by, and all of a sudden it was 1:30 am, ha.
Saturday was a fun day too. I went to the Oquirrh Mountain Open House with Nikki, Cassie, Sarah and Claire. It's such a gorgeous temple! Later that night, I went out in the girls quad, spread out a blanket, and just read. It was a nice night, and it was the perfect time of day for some outside reading. Kyle came over after the EQ activity, and we just sat and talked, and then went to Macey's and bought some finger paint, and then we finger painted! Haha, we are artists, I tell you what.
Yesterday Kyle and I (and Alan and Jess) went over to Nathan and Mel's for dinner. It was a great time... 2 year old Liam just completely steals my heart. We cuddled for most of the night on the love sac. Kyle got a little jealous ;) haha, just joking.
I'm still working on finding a job on campus, ugh. Right now they're all computer jobs. Bah, I'll keep looking though. I'm getting kind of sick of just sitting around everyday. I am really excited for school to starts, as crazy as that sounds. I do have a lot of time to think right now though, that's for sure. And you better believe I do a lot of thinking, haha.

Happy Fourth of July!!
I just love the Fourth of July.
It epitomizes summer, and celebrates this country, and is just a good time all around.
BBQ's, friends and family, fireworks, feeling like we're all in the together.
I love it.
Last year on the fourth, all I did was work.
Two years ago, Caleb, me, Mom and Chari went to the Stadium of Fire.
This year?
Aside from the festivities of the parade earlier this morning, I'm hanging with Kyle, going to the ward BBQ, and watching the fireworks. Great plans, if I do say so myself.
This week was a very fun, and interesting week for me. I, 1)went to Lagoon, 2)went golfing/learned how to golf, and 3)camped out for the first time for the parade in Provo.
1) Kyle and I were all gungho and ready to go to Lagoon. Kyle hasn't been in forever, and I haven't been in about a year and a half, so we were craving some crazy thrills. We went, had lunch in the cutest bakery/deli in Farmington, and then started on the rides. At first, we were complaining about how hot it was - but within about an hour or two, it was pouring rain! We got soaked to say the least. We went on rides, and wandered around pioneer village, but in the end, it got the best of us (after 3 or 4 hours!) and we left. Kyle won a little stuffed tiger though, and we decided to name it Lluvia (sp?) which means rain in Spanish, apparently. (Kyle knows that Spanish stuff, whereas I don't, ha.)
2) I went GOLFING. Yes, you heard right. Yesterday Kyle, Jay, Mal and I went golfing over at Sleepy Ridge. I did pretty terribly, and after 9 holes (and two and a bit hours later) I was pretty done. But, I really did enjoy it. I also got to drive around a golf cart, which is always fun. I got completely attacked by mosquitoes though, holy cow, it's awful! I haven't been using my camera very much lately, but when Mal posts some pictures, I'll put a few up here.
3) Kyle, me, Mal and her brother Matt slept out last night for the parade. Kyle and I have never done it, but we thought it would be fun. My friend Steph from high school was staking out a spot for her friends and family, and kindly let us join (thanks, Steph!). Let me tell you, it was an experience. It started out great. We had our blankets, our food, and were just chatting, enjoying the small town feel, the excitement, and were people watching. That all changed at about 1 am. It started sprinkling. Oh, no worries, it'll blow over, right? No! It poured for about an hour. We had that great tarp that Kyle bought for the Summerfest, and so we put that over us and we huddled wrapped in blankets for the night. We all got wet, and so that defintely put a damper (no pun intended!) on the event. Needless to say, we didn't get a lot of sleep in. We did get to see an amazing sunrise though, and see the hot air ballons take off. For the parade, Mom and Chari came and joined us. It was perfect temperature, then it rained, then it was blazing hot. Oh, Utah weather.
So, there are my most recent adventures. My life is really great.
